Traderscale Speedy Maximum Drawdown

Updated over a week ago

All Speedy accounts at Traderscale are subject to an 8 percent overall trailing drawdown limit.

This rule is designed to prevent excessive losses over the lifetime of the account and to promote long term risk management.

Drawdown is calculated using equity or balance (whichever is higher).

How the 8 Percent Trailing Drawdown Works

• The maximum drawdown is 8 percent of the starting balance
• It moves upward as your account equity increases
• It does not move back down if your balance decreases

Example on a $100,000 account:

• Initial maximum loss level: $92,000
• If your equity rises to $104,000, the trailing drawdown level moves to $96,000
• If equity rises further, the drawdown level continues to trail upward

When the Drawdown Becomes Fixed

Once your account achieves 8 percent profit, the maximum drawdown level becomes fixed at your starting balance.

Example:

On a $100,000 account:

• When your balance reaches $108,000
• Your maximum drawdown level becomes fixed at $100,000
• Even if your balance increases beyond $108,000, the drawdown level will remain at $100,000

Important: Withdrawals and Trailing Drawdown

The maximum drawdown level never decreases.

This means:

• If you withdraw profits, your balance reduces
• Your drawdown level does not adjust downward
• Your available buffer becomes smaller

Example:

On a $100,000 account:

• You make 4 percent profit, bringing balance to $104,000
• Your trailing drawdown level moves to $96,000
• If you withdraw the full $4,000
• Your balance returns to $100,000
• Your drawdown level remains at $96,000

You are now operating with a 4 percent buffer.

Traderscale recommends maintaining sufficient buffer to comfortably accommodate your strategy’s natural fluctuations.

Where Can I Monitor My Drawdown?

You can track your live drawdown levels by:

  1. Logging into your Traderscale Dashboard

  2. Navigating to Accounts Overview

  3. Clicking Go to Metrics on your selected trading account

Your breach level and remaining buffer are clearly displayed within the metrics section.

Important Reminder

Maximum drawdown is based on equity or balance (whichever is higher). Open trades can trigger a breach even if your closed balance appears compliant.

These drawdown rules are in place to encourage disciplined risk management and consistent trading behaviour.
